Resources and Services
Our primary goal is to serve as a resource for the general public, with a focus on the people of the Greater New Orleans area. For private citizens and non-profits, to the extent that we can schedule it, we try to do this on a pro bono or low cost basis. We also work with federal, state, and local authorities to provide services for compliance-based projects and fee-based curation of federally or state-owned collections.
Among the specialized resources we have or will have available in the near future are:
Ground-Penetrating Radar
3D Scanning and Photogrammetry
3D Printing (through our partners at the Earl K. Long Library)
Aerial Drone Photography
Cartographic and Census Research
Curatorial Services
Archaeological Survey and Excavation
We make decisions about field projects on a case by base basis, with the understanding that preservation in place is always the best option for archaeological resources when it is feasible.
